Budget Travel: Roatan is yet another ‘fake village/private beach’ built by a cruise line
To Labadee in Haiti, Costa Maya in Mexico, and Coco Cay and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, you can now add “Mahogany Bay” on the island of Roatan in Honduras.
I’m looking for a cruise in China that will tour the mountains and not big cities but I want something cheap and uniqueish – not just Carnival or Royal carribean cruises in China. Anyone have any ideas where I should look?
AAA’s annual three-day show at Gillette Stadium wraps up today
Being retired has its perks. For some, like Len and Irene Yutkins of Attleboro, it means traveling as much as possible. That is why there was no place they’d rather be Friday afternoon than at the AAA (the Automobile Association of America) Travel Marketplace at Gillette Stadium.
I’m a graduate student majored in computer science. I want to buy a laptop for my work and daily use. Both performance and reasonable price are important to me. At the moment I found IBM T61 is a good choice.
Any suggestion on specific brand or type ?

Well plastic is the biggest polluter and I was just wondering if we could use plastic beams instead of wood to build frames of houses. Like maybe we could melt it with something fibrous like hemp fibers to increase strength. Ive read about Henry Ford using hemp fibers to build his cars. “Composed of a mixture of farm crops and synthetic chemicals, the plastic is reported to withstand a blow 10 times as great as steel without denting.”
Could it be possible to use plastic this way if it was reinforced?
Does anyone else think that it could be a better and greener building material?
Yes plastic is really bad and so is foam but we wont be eating artificial female hormones like we do now. And it would covered in drywall so i don’t think we would inhale the chemicals too much.
Im surprised there isn’t more answers we only recycle 10% of plastics. We need creative ideas if we don’t want the world to end up like Wall-e it wont be metal everywhere it would be plastic because it isn’t biodegradable.
kinook what kind of experiment did you do?
Do you know what kind of flame retardant they put on wood to build houses?
I thought there wasn’t any, lol all thought all we had fiberglass and the plastic sheet between the plastic siding.
what if molds for plastic were covered in clay then the plastic would be poured and then fired in the kiln?
would the plastic just burn up, explode or seep through the brick like outside?
Or maybe make a casting of the clay, bake it, then fill with plastic and seal it.
I’m just throwing some ideas around.
What’s naturally flame retardant?
